"Optimism Is The Key To Overcoming Loss."

What the Bleep do We do now? “USC, The National Champion!” Optimism is the Key to Overcoming Loss.

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.”
Helen Keller

A lesson learned through a Trojan loss, I am coming to understand having knowledge with lessons not applied, a tool (RAS,) not really understanding how powerful an impact something can have is like finding a new trick. However it took this tragedy of a Trojan loss for me to apply this lesson to have the courage taking action and affirming how precious life is and to exercise something that we possess inside all of us. I am not here to dwell on loss but rather to support the idea that life is good and goes on. Living life fully is a choice with a process having rewards of life well lived far outweigh our sadness and grief.

I can remember the time after years of Notre Dame Defeats, our Trojan fans succumbed to being a very conservative crowd (no passion in the game, overwhelmed in fear of loss.) John De Luna and I, John having great seats back in that day, me living gratitude for being there, went just ballistic with Heavy Cheer, prepared to win in our minds no matter the risk of embarrassment in front of the entire USC Stadium Crowd. Mantra: “We Won!” We stood up against all odds at the risk of our integrity and heckled the Fighting Irish luckily into submission or was it luck, it was a choice. Shortly thereafter George Rivero and John De Luna committed to season tickets with a new crowd, fittingly “The Thundering Herd,” and in the greatest College ball turnaround in USC’s history, witnessed USC’s climb back to Championship. I live in Gratitude.

How to “Leave No Doubt” by Keeping the Positive Live!

“Your Reticular Activating System (RAS) is actually a filter. With it, you can program yourself to allow specific, positive and useful information to enter consciousness, all sorts of doors will begin to open”…
Beyond Freedom

“So begin to program yourself to see good and there will be more good.”
Payne and Krieder

We have been here before endured to a National Championship.

Painful Loss Holds the Seeds of Transformation

As we look back we will see, perhaps with much surprise, that the days were holding the seeds of new growth. Transformation is always a process of birth-death-rebirth, life through struggle to new life. Loss is a part of this journey. We cannot avoid it. What we can do is open ourselves to this unfolding process. We can trust that something new will follow our time of loss. This truth is at the heart of spiritual growth and development.

Rumi

Losing this battle does not mean we lost the war.
